IMBAlino Browser Mesh Node

Firefox add-on · support & setup · Last updated: September 14, 2026

What it is

The IMBAlino Browser Mesh Node is the browser half of IMBAlino. It lets the assistant running locally on your own machine see and operate the web pages you already have open: read page text and links, take screenshots, and click, type and navigate for you.

It does nothing on its own. Without the IMBAlino desktop application (or the IMBAlino headless host) running on the same computer, the add-on connects to nothing and has no effect. Installing it by itself is harmless and useless.

It only ever opens one connection: ws://127.0.0.1:<port>/ws — your own machine. See the add-on privacy policy for the full data-handling statement.

Setup

1. Run the host. Start IMBAlino, or the IMBAlino headless host, on the same machine as Firefox. If you do not have it yet, get it from imbalino.com — the add-on does nothing without it.

2. Pair. On Windows this is automatic — the add-on asks the local host for its port and token and connects on its own, with no input from you. On macOS and Linux automatic pairing is not available yet, so pair by hand: run iml-api browser.pairingInfo in a terminal, then enter the port and paste the token on the options page of the add-on and click Save & Connect.

3. Confirm. The status indicator on the options page turns green and reads Attached.
